Not the Best

Pros

Some positive people but they are not cultivated. There seems to be turnover around 3-5 years.

Cons

Upper management does not value and appreciate employees. There is a disconnect between the values of the company and the bottom line. Unfortunately, the two will never be in sync until the upper management treats employees as individuals and does not allow lower management to treat people like trash. The harassment and scruitiny I felt on a daily basis was stressful and harming. It was not until I left that I realized how abusive it was. The department I worked in was exclusively male-driven and their egos matched. I was treated more like a grade schooler than a professional with years of experience that could have brought value to the department.

Pros

Spray foam is a nice feature for the homes.

Cons

Not sure where to start. Purchasing department is so far behind and will cost you your bonus. It doesn't matter if the plans are wrong or if purchase orders are wrong, you are the one who loses the bonus. Bonus program is a joke. You won't find out about your bonus until after they don't pay you for it. Managers will hide and place the blame game when you are looking for a reason why you didn't receive what you should have. When they finally admit they are wrong, they will say they will make it up to you latet, which never happens. Managers play favorites a lot so be prepared to seem impressed when they are bragging to you about something. Most managers under vp have that position for being there so long but have no idea what they should be doing. Ideas and trying to fix mistakes are ignored from the field and only implemented after an office person starts to repeat your idea. They spend more time celebrating birthdays in the office and acting like we are all a big team than they do trying to fix any mistakes.

Pros

The only positive I can think of is a paycheck. If you have an offer from another company take it.

Cons

Extremely unethical, dishonest and unorganized organization. While interviewing, they paint a picture of a company that is employee and customer centric....this is a lie that will unfortunately be revealed after you start. Within the first few weeks you will notice employees are miserable and customers are fed up. Customers and employees alike are treated like they are easily replaceable. Unethical and dishonest practices by mgmt are prevalent on a daily basis. Don't expect to get anywhere unless you "play the game". If you don't share in their unethical behavior or question it you will get nowhere. If you can endure this environment expect to wait extremely long to get paid as homes never close on time. Construction times are extended by weeks and months not days. This creates unhappy customers where you will be putting out fires everyday for construction. Don't expect any support from management they are too busy hiding in the division office and making excuses to corporate. Don't make the same mistake I did and get locked in working here because you are waiting on closings to get paid. If you leave, you lose your closings and will not be paid. If you can get another offer with another builder take it. There are so many other builders who will value your talent.
