Nice culture

Pros

Friendly culture; options for flexibility and freedom and option to create your own schedule based on your supervisor; hardworking coworkers who go above and beyond their expected tasks; PTO rolls over so you don't have to worry about that; can move laterally into other departments.

Cons

Low pay; there is always a fire drill - lots of last minute requests/push from VPs; feel quite overworked at times; reactive culture; terrible insurance plan.

Pros

My overall experience has been really good. As a construction manager I deal directly with the buyers and am proud of our product. The checks come rolling in every month with no issue and I get a car allowance as well as money for my phone bill

Cons

On the down side I don't think that creating a truly remarkable customer experience is a high priority at least not within my division.

Pros

The pros are that the culture is an independent culture, but honestly that depends on who your direct supervisor is. We have some employees who make their own schedule for the most part (within reason) and then we have employees who have supervisors who expect them to work and answer emails 7 days per week and work overtime as needed BUT then harass their employee about PTO time when they are sick or out of the office.

Cons

Meritage is all about the six figure club. Honestly, if you are not invited to the Vegas Leadership Institute that they have once or twice a year, you do not matter. That is the honest truth. The leaders at Meritage form a circle around each other, they make a lot of money, it is painful them to interact with the employees on a human level, the real worker bees, the leaders allow the other leaders to dump as much work as needed on other employees. I wish I could say more, but I cannot...
