Pros

To be fair their are a few pros to working for Meritage. If you are lucky enough to be surrounded by the few quality employees they give you the lee way and the funding to operate your jobsite as you please financially with in their corporate client expectations. If you are new to the industry the corporate structure can work to your advantage to learn the true fundamentals of construction rapidly with no financial burden on yourself.

Cons

It is a corporation. You are a number. They do not prefer quality over quantity. Politics, politics, politics, if you don’t play the game you will be ignored. They pin employees against each other for promotions. They hire the cheapest trade and used the same cheap trade on as many job sites as they can. You have to compete with in your own company for trades attention. Combined with its your fault when trades cannot hit dates. Upper management shot themselves in the foot and they know it.
