Pros
Get to work independently or with just one other person. You only work M-F from 9-5 with weekends off. Its an active physical job so your not sitting at a desk all day staring at a computer while you get fat.
Cons
Pays less than minimum wage. You have to use your own car as a work vehicle without getting compensated for wear & tear or insurance. If you were in an accident and the Merry maids magnet is on your car your personal car insurance won't cover it. You were expected to pay for your own business vehicle insurance & bonding. If you had no jobs for the day you were asked to go out into the neighborhood & disperse ads to people free of pay. Our paychecks were always short & sometimes they didn't pay you at all & always had an excuse for why. The owners are all religious people who make you pray before and after work. They preached god than paid you below the min. Wage. Pay is NOT hourly it is by the job. Each job would pay about $25 each and take 3 or more hours plus drive time. Some days you were paid $25 for a whole days work. The home office was always out of cleaning supplies and they expect you to just buy your own even though they claim to supply everything at the interview. They required you to take a drug test and background check so I assumed my coworkers would all be drug free and without a record. I was wrong. One girl I had to work with had been to prison for assaulting a cop. Another girl stole pain pills from customers homes daily. I told my boss and they said " its hard to find someone who won't do these things". When they say all candidates are screened before employment they don't mean that they passed so never hire this place to clean your house. They just mean that they screened them. I saw one person get a slap on the wrist for stealing a customers TV, & another was caught sniffing a customers undies. This really happened.
