Pros

The company offers room to grow and opportunities for professional development. The bonuses are nice, overall the company is well organized and has a solid infrastructure. They offer flex time and work from home opportunities.

Cons

The performance management process is brutal and does not always make sense; it pits associates at certain levels against each other for job ratings despite the fact that they work in different sites and their jobs may be very different. Every year you need to 'out do' yourself in accomplishments from the year before. The expecations from Mgt are that you will work weekends and nights to get the job done, at least at the level I was at. I got burned out, which is why I left.

Pros

Good Benefits packages. Metlife does offer comprehensive benefits to its employees and if your a woman you do get a decent amount of time off if your pregnant. I'm a male so I don't get that same treatment, but you are able to carry over PTO days... up to 15 per year which is nice so you can schedule a longer vacation if you want to. Telecommuting is a nice option also.

Cons

Average pay starting out and a very complex salary grade system that doesn't really reward hard work. It seems that to make decent money you either have to get a great promotion or put in way too much time.
