As a network of 13 hospitals and dozens of clinics throughout the DFW region, Methodist serves a community of more than a million people. Despite the size, it feels incredibly connected, with a family-like culture that makes every employee feel valued and supported. One of the things that stands out to me is the organization’s commitment to excellence in patient care. Methodist is a Magnet-recognized healthcare system, and it’s easy to see why. The dedication to providing high-quality care is reflected not only in the patient outcomes but also in the work culture. It’s a high reliability organization where everyone, from leadership to staff, strives to meet and exceed the standards of care consistently. The positive work culture here is one of the best parts of my experience. There’s a strong emphasis on teamwork, and collaboration across departments is something that’s actively encouraged. New initiatives do take an extended time to implement. However it is because Methodist does well to ensure all stakeholders are part of the collaborative decision making process and any new plan has been vetted and approved by all who could be affected by the new implementation.
