Pros

Has good Time off, Hybrid and Accessible

Cons

Unprofessional leadership, the HR leadership serves as a racist, classist inconsiderate department. There was a constant state of chaos, miscommunication, Unprofessionalism, lack of growth. It felt like working in High School, where it mattered who you knew and not how well you worked.

Pros

-Puts our members (customers) first and foremost in all strategic decisions. -Not for profit organization in an industry often criticized for putting profit first before members. -Willing to change and improve and review all facets of the organization for efficiencies.

Cons

-Currently, there is limited management training for newer leaders. -There is an adjustment period for those new hires who are transitioning from the private sector to non-profit/government. [Not so much a con as it is a consideration when changing roles]

Pros

Benefits and Pay; working 2-3 days from home

Cons

I worked at MetroPlus for several years until I had to move and get a new job as there are no options for remote work. When I do go into the office, it was really hard to get work done as there is multiple people in the claims department nearby talking loudly inapropriately and fooling around- no leadership is there supervising or watching that they are working. Some staff in that department have their their pants super low and you can see more than you are suposed to. Yes, Thursdays can be for socializing with your colleagues but there must be an expectation of respect and behaving like an adult. When you are in a meeting with them and have to ask them a question at a meeting, even the higher ups in that department will disrespect you in front of everyone to try to doge a question. Its really not worth the 2 hour commute. Keep in mind, that you are forced to take their insurance for the first year, and these same people have access to your sensitive information and can access it without cause which they will do if you even look at them the wrong way. No formal training, the learning and development department is onlly there to serve the higher ups- Unless you are a Director, nobody makes eye contact with you at the office. I am giving 2 stars only because the benefits are great but benefits are mostly controlled by the union, not MetroPlus.
