Pros

Great opportunities to advance to high paying, secure positions. Great pension. Fun and interesting work if you can ignore the politics and managers who know nothing about railroading.

Cons

The place is run by political hacks with no ability, knowledge or motivation. Managed to maximize expenditure of tax money which funds the place. Hiring based strictly on affirmative action "goals" with incompetence running wild. Little to no oversight of money or payroll.
