UK Company with little competent direction or understanding of the US Markets
Pros
Management style can vary greatly depending on who you are reporting into. Some have the luxury of virtually zero micro-management while others constantly have someone over their shoulder. Small "perks" are available at all times ie. internal recruitment, advertising sales. If you are lucky and work for someone with a good reputation across the Company, you can easily gain better visibility across the business.
Cons
Extensive hours, VERY little flexibility based on the market they have you working in, executive leadership lacking sound understanding of the US market and how it varies from the UK. Although you are working off a quarterly bonus structure, it is not consistent enough nor do you receive any fair incentives if you are working in a market that has not been established. There is a lot of playing "favorites" and internal politics with unfair treatment and underutilization of eager and motivated employees. They tell you that you are essentially building your own business, do not treat it that way in the incentives you gain for your work and understanding of each sector's specific dynamics. FAR too motivated by short-term revenue goals as opposed to sound strategic direction and growth.
