      Great management, but poor training

      Pros

      Very reliable place to work. The management is friendly, and if you are a part time employee they are very accepting of when you work. Its a great place for students they work around class schedules quite a bit.

      Cons

      The training is very minimal. It will feel as if you are thrown right into the job without knowing exactly how to do what you need to and this can be a problem while in framing where you are the only one in the store in that department. It gets quite embarrassing when a customer asks you a question that you don't know the answer too and neither does anyone else working.

      Pros

      The customers most of all. The benefits are good. They promote from within. They pay well in the position that I'm in.

      Cons

      Downsizing is their downsides due to the fact that you most likely will lose your salary to keep a job. Them knowing what they are going to do and not saying anything when asked. Telling us nothing is changing when the rumors are true.

      Maybe good job for a student, but overall not a great place to work.

      Pros

      As a crafts instructor you can set your own schedule and teach what you want.

      Cons

      Management is usually not supportive of instructors, in fact I think they pretty much have ended most of the crafts classes. Also, the pay is pretty pathetic. You can make more depending on the price of your class, but when you are in to teach demos or for non class work, you only get $7.00 / hr. I've worked in more than one store and the majority of managers of the stores are down right rude and condescending toward employees.
