Pros

Good pay, commissions possible, upper management knows what they are doing, ability to move positions is fairly easy if there is an opening

Cons

Some managers are clueless. They will give a customer anything, even if it breaks company policy. Customer service gets yelled at for things they dont do (but thats normal I suppose), when a bad survey is given you get written up no matter the situation

Pros

-Competitive compensation -Competitive medical package -Extremely interactive management team -Clear goals (albeit inconsistent among groups at times) -Family friendly in respect to PTO, etc. -Generally a positive environment -Relatively flat management hierarchy (also a con, see below) -Many if not most employees passionate about what they do, especially in management positions

Cons

-Flat management hierarchy - little room for career advancement in most groups -ZERO retirement security - no 401K match, no pension -Worst corporate office building I have ever stepped foot into - Drab, brown, dark, packed full of people, cluttered, and not a single window in the building

Recession!.....Not at Micro Center.

Pros

What better reason to be positive about one's employer when it continues to grow during an economic downturn (2008-09). Founded in 1979, MC continues to outlast its retail competitors. After establishing one's office creditability, executive management allows freedom for creativity and flexibility. This allows for personal job satisfaction that is high on everyone's priority list.

Cons

As there exists in most mainstream employment, office pressure is present. As the company grows, office goals per desk also grows. These are sometimes over-bearing and can affect one's basic character traits. One needs to adapt to these pressures to assure job security.
