Pros

Steady/Stable growth. Clear company focus/direction. Good work environment. Good executive management team. It's exciting working in our company that is growing and opening new stores. I have worked for this company for several years and still enjoy the new challenges and opportunities each day brings. How many associates can say that about their company after working there several years?

Cons

1. Sorry, but our gaming buyers are out-of-touch with the market in the Gaming arena. It's truly embarassing to our associates in the stores. In my opinion, we need to either be as good or better than our competition (EBGames, GameStop, etc.) or get out of gaming entirely. Micro Center is not a mediocre company, yet our gaming department is mediocre at best. Ask a gaming associate at any store to get a good, detailed read on this one. 2. To be fair to our traveling associates, we really need to have company credit cards assigned or allow them to be signed out for useage, at a minimum. The current system of travel advances and carrying large sums of cash on a plane or paying on our own credit cards and waiting for reimbursements, etc. is not beneficial or convenient for the company or the associate. It also requires more of the finance and travel departments with the use of advances.

Pros

The management team and their ability to get the best out of their associates and grow them along the way. Always looking to improve and typically open to ideas from all associates within the company. Strong focus on the customer. Very methodical in their growth plan, even when then economy offers us many opportunities.

Cons

Compensation does not always match the job function. Benefits could be more robust.
