      Pros

      Colleagues and the customers are wonderful. All are very knowledgeable and professional. Everyone is willing to assist you whenever possible.

      Cons

      Company senior management are out of touch and not focused. They don't give any sense of care or loyalty to their employees. They drive a narrative that says they have the business under control, but it's obvious they don't. As Serena Software, we had hundreds of employees and multiple award winning customer service and support. After the Micro Focus buyout, all those accolades disappeared. Customers lost faith in the company and renewals are steadily declining.

      Pros

      - Work from home and generally flexible work schedule - There are some great, talented people that work here (mostly in presales), but it drops off pretty hard after that. Most people that can get jobs elsewhere have done so, and what's left is bottom feeders that can't

      Cons

      - Sub-par compensation - Zero career growth or development - Decreased investment across all functions: no one that leaves is replaced and R&D is declining more and more - Constant layoffs: they try to keep them quiet, but they're quarterly. - Extreme hubris and politics in senior management

      Pros

      There are some solid veterans from acquisitions that remember software development.

      Cons

      Micro Focus fired the US based CEO within 6 months and the US SVP of Sales is leaving. Micro Focus is essentially a portfolio managed by a few Brits to maximize their investment - very similar to a financial institution.
