Pros

Work/Life balance is good but your experience will depend greatly based on the direct manager at the time. Managers change fairly frequently (every other year) and the way company policies are identified and practiced will vary depending on the manager at the time. Company has well established products but have been lacking in innovation for quite some time. Despite lack of strong leadership, the individual contributors are very strong and most have 10+ years of industry experience.

Cons

Organization has been steadily shrinking over the years. There is a very large portfolio of solutions to cover, and over time a lot of knowledge and expertise has slowly dwindled. It is difficult to tell if the company is aware of their own competitiveness in terms of compensation. Compensation is slightly below market, and for the more senior roles it is significantly below market. This is a bit difficult to measure though because comp dynamics are different when comparing to younger and newer companies, where Stocks/Options/RSUs may contribute to a significant component of the compensation. None of the latter are given out any more and so it is straight base plus variables. The compensation is very conservative and merit increases are very hit or miss. When hit, the increase is very low. The best way to grow is to get promoted or leave to a different (HR) role. Every year there are new bonus programs and accelerators across the field. For Sales participation and attainment is objective and straight forward, but for presales it is often based on subjective election. There are years where good fortune and circumstances can play in your favor (for Sales), but for presales the latter is often softened due to a shared pool model.
