      Good management philosophy, fostered through a set of "Guiding Values." There is a distinct management open-door policy for all employees on all levels, i.e., any employee can stop by a manager's office (including the CEO) at any time to speak about issues. There is a strong feeling that the employee is truly important to the success of the company. A set of

      Pros

      I came to work for Microchip because they acquired Micrel, the company I had worked for for 19 years. I was laid off but my impression of Microchip is a good one. The transition team was helpful and very nice and I really liked the new boss I had. They have good benefits.

      Cons

      I thought that they might be acquiring companies too fast and were unable to complete all aspects of transition smoothly before starting on another.

      Good experience overall. I was exposed to a lot of systems and interfaces. Fast paced. Lots of tapeouts New challenges

      Cons

      They have lower salaries other than the rest of the market. Lots of travel. I had to travel all year.
