Pros
Stable company with a robust R&D program that results in solid performance and revenue each year. The mid-level managers are generally pretty good, and most people are really nice. Good opportunities to move up early in your career but these can stall out as you get to the mid-to-senior engineer level. A great place to work if you're looking to come in and do your job, and go home. Long term stability is a real plus. If you're a high performer they really take care of you.
Cons
I'm not sure how the integration will change things. When the company was smaller it was much better but they were able to maintain as much of the culture as you could expect after being acquired by Merck KGA and becoming EMD Millipore. Not a lot of technically challenging roles. Because it is so stable many people end up staying until retirement if they can. This can be great, but it also means a lot of younger talent has to leave to move up. I always did well here but wasn't seeing the development opportunities that I wanted and had to leave to make the kind of steps forward, in my career, that I was looking for.
