      Pros

      The people I work with directly are easy to work with and make it enjoyable.

      Cons

      Too many changes all at once with SAP and all the databases changing. When people leave they are not replaced so more work given to current employees. Have to go thru so many more chains of command to get anything done.

      Pros

      Good place to gain experience for future career. Benefits are average for the industry standard. Coworkers are all very pleasant to work with.

      Cons

      The management is more concerned about staying under budgets than investing in proper equipment and resources to perform the job at hand. They are slow to promote unless you are actively applying for new positions. Communication between departments is poor.

      I left as EMD and Millipore were being merged, bit my overall experience at EMD was a good one.

      Pros

      Good people, fairly good infrastructure support, latitude to do your job the right way.

      Cons

      Politics start at the management level, and some certain directors are installed by Merck, who have business degrees but know nothing of the area they are put on charge of. When I left. Merck was starting to tighten their grip on everything.
