Hyper-growth company that can't keep up

Pros

- Good pay - Decent benefits - Generally cool people

Cons

Not a great place for personal growth. Seems like we kept hiring people to fill roles instead of promoting from within. If career trajectory is important, best to look elsewhere because you'll be in your role for a year+ longer than you should be. For a company the size of Miro, they were very behind on a lot of measures when it came to DEI and culture. There was no DEI strategy (seems like it was constantly on the back burner for the executive team) and no push from the executive team to address it. Almost all of the leadership was based out of EMEA with little to no understanding or care of supporting underprivileged communities at Miro. Despite homophobic instances that occurred at the company and a pattern of minority groups leaving the company, leadership took no effort to address the concerns in a meaningful way. This same sentiment is reflected in the little to no support offered to ERG communities. Overall a difficult company to work for if you come from an underprivileged community. Steps are being made towards the right direction but there's a lot of ground needed to be covered. Perhaps instead of focusing on hyper growth, Miro should focus on making changes internally to prevent retention of great talent.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback on your employee experience at Miro. As our company continues to evolve and mature after an intense period of hyper-growth, we acknowledge that there may be areas where improvements are needed. We are fully committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, and we see your feedback as an opportunity for continuous growth and progress in our D&I efforts. To demonstrate our commitment, we have implemented several initiatives aimed at improving our diversity and inclusion practices: - Partnerships: We have formed partnerships with organizations such as Workplace Pride to enhance specific areas within our D&I efforts. These collaborations enable us to leverage external expertise and resources to drive positive change. - D&I Committee: We have established a dedicated committee that prioritizes and promotes D&I topics within our organization. This committee plays a vital role in shaping our D&I strategy, setting goals, and driving meaningful initiatives. - Trainings: We are developing comprehensive training programs that align with our company's D&I statements and values. These trainings will provide employees with the necessary tools and knowledge to foster an inclusive culture and address unconscious biases. - Optimized Hiring Process: We are implementing a Diversity Slate Approach to ensure a more diverse candidate pool during our hiring process. By actively seeking out a broad range of perspectives, we aim to build a more inclusive and representative workforce. - Incident Management: Clear guidelines have been established to effectively address and respond to D&I concerns. We encourage all employees to report any incidents or issues they encounter, as we are committed to taking prompt and appropriate action. - Employee Resource Groups: We are enhancing our support for our ERGs to ensure their voices are heard and their impact is amplified. ERGs play a crucial role in building an inclusive community within our organization. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Disjointed Leadership + No focus on Diversity!

Pros

Respectable benefits and great colleagues at the mid-manger and IC levels.

Cons

Leadership is less than stellar at the Senior level. Many senior leaders are disengaged and disconnected. Executive leadership is unorganized, in constant chaos and competing with one another. There's very little partnership to ensure the People of Miro are nurtured or supported from both personal and professional perspectives. In a recent event within the LGBTQ+ ERG, there was a homophobic slur with little to no recognition, action or condemnation of homophobia itself. This is very telling of the culture, lack thereof, and global centricity of this organization. The Senior Leadership team has yet to address any of the above for months now. Very sad and a complete disappointment.

Hi, thank you for your feedback as this helps us keep growing and improving Miro and its culture. To address the points you have raised, the Miro People team has gone through a transformation in the last 3 months and has been structured in a way to address the issues you have mentioned here. The Miro People team is committed to D&I and will be making it a key focus area as we continue iterating and building upon our Miro culture and the experience for all Mironeers. We have spent the last month researching, listening to feedback and investigating our D&I needs to determine the initiatives that can be properly rolled out. Best regards, The Miro team

Pros

Great product, strong user base

Cons

No one from the executive team has the experience needed to take Miro where it should be going. CRO is all over the place, constantly changing directions and the sales team gets the brunt of that impact. Take a look at who they are hiring and who is leaving and it will tell you everything you need to know. Difficult to trust a sales leader with no sales background....
