Pros

Mission Hospital fosters a just culture and is committed to nursing excellence supported by evidence best practice. Is truly invested in the care of our patients, families, and communities. Nursing care at Mission is all about relationships. I have been a RN for 14 years and have worked in a variety of healthcare settings which include Duke University Hospital and Military Hospitals and nothing compares to nursing at Mission. I truly love being a Mission nurse and caring for our community. Western North Carolina is a beautiful place to nurse and live.

Cons

Have to look for affordable housing but it is available.

Pros

Great teamwork. Wonderful relationship with physicians and nursing. I feel respected in my job. I have been working here for 14 years and have had many opportunities to grow in my profession.

Cons

There are always cons in every job that come and go when you have been somewhere for 14 years. At times it seems there is a disconnection it what is needed at the bedside and viewed as needed by administration. However, I feel the current administration is really working to help that. It is just not something that is fixed overnight.

Pros

I've been at Mission 30 yrs and experienced many changes. This is a very exciting time to be at Mission Hospital if you care about quality, safety and the patient experience. lots of ways to get involved. Nursing is trying innovative ways to work smarter!

Cons

can seem bulky to get changes through different oversight committees. Hard to cover call-ins due to not enough folks in staffing pool but we are trying to change that.
