Staff members in the Division of Student Affairs are collaborative across different functional areas. Staff are enjoyable to interact with on work-related projects and will also spend time together at local restaurants and entertainment venues. Professional development opportunities (with financial support) are available at the university, regional, and national level. Campus improvements have contributed to a more enjoyable campus feel. Health, dental, and vision benefits are very good. There are also annual funds that can be used to take non-credit fee courses and/or towards health and fitness activities (massages and personal training at the campus recreation center).

As a student worker, I obviously needed a lot of time outside of the job to focus on my studies. My position in the Office of Student Engagement at Missouri State University gave me this flexibility. My pros are as follows: Flexible hours Great Work-Life Balance Freedom to approach things in a manner you see is best Professional staff are great advisers and provide an abundance of guidance and wisdom Staff is friendly and engaged Current employees are given priority when applying for new promotions
