Pros

Usually has slots open for new hires at all levels of company Unlimited PTO - I've steadily taken more than 4 weeks off per year since it was enacted Progression Oriented - You're constantly pushed to set goals for yourself and advance your expertise and career. For the talented folks, advancement opportunities arise quickly (definitely by 2nd year). To be honest, a lot of folks will take the knowledge they gain here and get a bigger salary elsewhere. Solid teams - Teams are siloed, but you can usually find an expert from another team to assist with big issues when expertise is needed. Most coworkers are fantastic at ownership and assisting other teams. Transparency - Company holds all hands and bears it all, pretty much. Not too interesting to most folks, I'd imagine. Preach and practice DEI - Diversity, equity, inclusion.

Cons

Low starting pay - If you excel, you'll advance rapidly but starting salary is lacking. Unsure how any new hires afford to live in the Austin area anymore. Top-Heavy- Handful of people have the most knowledge. Churn and layoffs constantly lose expertise. Growing pains. Company used to have parties, free meals, team outings, giveaways (ipads, at one point). It has for a few years now been focusing entirely on aggressive growth: goals to double in size every few years. The core product line has hit a peak that runs counter to the company's growth strategy so it has acquired seemingly unrelated software in other areas. Most of the perks are gone, even though company is smartly profiting more than ever. Culture - Work from home exclusivity and frequent global acquisitions has made it far more difficult to have the type of amazing culture the company used to have. No longer supplemented by team building meals/events or the old yearly company holiday party. I wouldn't want to be a manager - they have almost as high a turnover rate as low-level employees.
