Pros

No weekends, daytime hours, use of company vehicle and not your own.

Cons

They actually treated you like you were a 2nd grader!!! Office staff would treat SOME employees like they were Princesses, while the others were maligned, harassed, and, singled out!!! We were expected to clean up mice infestations, complete with dead rodents, and, their feces. Sewage spills. And, urine soaked carpets..... all without special supplies. The owner of the company actually compared the job as one step above a "sweat shop job"!!!

Pros

It's better than not having a job, I suppose. Use of the company car as opposed to our own vehicle.

Cons

Coworkers and supervisor at this particular franchise are bullies. Piece work, no hourly pay, which averages to well below minimum wage. Perfection is demanded at all times from employees even when ill, but if the supervisor or a customer makes any kind of egregious error, well, too bad for us. I have never seen any of the tips given by customers and yet I *know* we have received tips. Expected to come in during snow storm/snow emergency and are reprimanded for not driving in icy or snowblind conditions. Supervisor started me before she had even run my background check and became very angry and paranoid when I inquired as to whether she had finished running it or not. Draconian rules and regulations at this particular franchise which have absolutely nothing to do with quality of work (I was ordered to never sing or hum while working, I was ordered to stop wearing pink socks, etc). NO benefits of any kind. Corollary to the previous: If one is sick more than once in a month and they have no note, they are automatically fired. This seems to punish women who do not have and cannot afford health insurance which seems to be ALL of the women i work with. There has been talk of several women who were fired conveniently after becoming pregnant, both at this location and another close by. NO organisation of supplies and chemicals. There is no set routine or system as taught in other places such as MaidPro. Almost NO training to speak of for newcomers. The franchise in question has no parking lot for the employees (only the supervisor), who all park a block or more away and walk to the office.
