Pros

House cleaning is an easy and laid back job, this job also taught me things I did not know before about cleaning and I was able to bring those skills into my own house cleaning service.

Cons

Management at the time I worked there was horrible, very rude and petty. They also took $3 out of our commission PER HOUSE for gas, and there were times where the owner did not have gas cards for us, so some cleaners had to put in their own money into the company car to get to the homes we had to clean. We were expected to be at the office 30 minutes early to fold towels and fill up supplies, unpaid since we only got paid by the house we cleaned. Team leaders would steal tips from other maids if the maids were new. Commission pay meant sometimes we made less than min wage if the house was really big (mansions) but not priced high enough. They were too cheap to send a team of more than 2, which meant we spent longer in those homes for less pay. In general the commission pay was not enough to make a livable wage because of the small team sizes.

Pros

Office manager Martin and Lynda are very professional to work with. Quite office, bonus money a plus. Monday thru Friday job.

Cons

No benefits, the owner Dennis who is selling out to an UK investor has not divulged the news to his employees (Martin and Lynda and cleaning ladies ) or so he believes they are clue less that he is selling the business and has not altered his employees. His 8 year partner is quitting in January because the owner could not even have the courtesy to tell him he is selling out. They found out and I was given notification that we would or would not have a job by end of January as soon as take over. Dennis the "owner" or seller has a nasty temper you cannot reason with the man very unprofessional does not even know what "WiFi is or a USB. He is around late 60's cannot get with the program. He has no professional experience on how to conduct relationship with his subordinates when he is mad, even when you offer an explanation and apologize. These employees are going to be better off with the new owner than with him. I had to walk out on my second day of work . Typical ignorant stubborn senior man who has no concept of running a business employees no wonder they have had a high turn around of this position on craigslist every year, if you notice thee pattern. I was wondering why. Well know I know.
