Pros

Excellent, hard working, over-qualified Visitor Service staff. Teamwork is exceptional. Pay and benefits are the best you can get for this kind of museum position in NYC. Able to go home and not take work with you.

Cons

Gererally low pay with no chance of moving up within the museum. Not much room to learn new skills. Higher level staff don't appreciate you.

Pros

Intelligent coworkers who are genuinely excited about their work and treat their colleagues well. Lots of exciting events and exhibitions going on at the museum.

Cons

Climbing the ladder is difficult. HR brings in new people as often as they promote from within. Opaque upper management.
