      Unique company both good and bad

      Pros

      Great people throughout the company. Cool technology with meaningful impact. Very stable business with long term contracts. Generous benefits. If you're looking for a steady, long-term job, you can't do much better than Moog. New CEO has brought some new energy. You likely won't have to worry about being micromanaged at Moog as managers are very hands off.

      Cons

      Competence is King is one of the values but it's run more like the royal family at the top. Schoolyard politics are abundant especially at management ranks, with lots of closed-door gossip and the well-connected getting passes for their poor performance. It's gotten worse under the current CHRO, who seems to have no clue how to design a fair and objective performance management strategy. The leaders I watched build the business up with acquisitions have long retired. The company has been pretty stagnant the past decade. There's new execs and the jury is out so there's hope. Our customers punish us for our often late deliveries but we're hard to replace on their programs. Eventually this might catch up with us and we'll lose market share and need layoffs. Management doesn't take this seriously enough.

      -Degraded Company Culture: A significant decline in company culture, particularly under the current leadership. -Questionable Leadership: Concerns about the leadership of the CEO and Chief HR Officer, including their handling of company restructuring and their perceived prioritization of profits over people. -Dismal Employee Satisfaction: A significant drop in employee satisfaction as evidenced by internal surveys and high turnover rates. -Eroding Work-Life Balance: A decline in work-life balance due to factors like mandatory office returns, removal of overtime pay, and less favorable vacation policies, including the so-called "unlimited" vacation time that actually benefits the company more than the employee. -Outsourcing and Job Cuts: Concerns about the company's decision to outsource tech jobs overseas and implement cost-cutting measures. -Lack of Employee Training: Mandatory employee training, such as sexual harassment, cybersecurity, intellectual property, etc., is not properly monitored or maintained. -Foreign National Leadership and Government Contracts: Concerns about the potential impact of growing foreign national leadership on the company's ability to maintain government contracts.

      Beyond Expectations

      I have never worked somewhere that I am welcomed from every level within the company. I have had such fun handing out Turkey Vouchers with my boss (who dressed up like a turkey), decorated the company tree, spent time wrapping gifts for upcoming holiday party in addition to many typical Administrative tasks. I have learned about different medical devices, and the benefit they provide. I had the opportunity to assist a customer that came in to rave about the difference the device has made in his life. Moog is not just a workplace, but an extended family. So delighted to be a part of this team.
