Pros

Great people to work with and great place to get experience.

Cons

Upper management/Director is very disconnected from reality. They live in their own world and hold back their employees from progressing in their careers. They make decisions without consulting their teams.

Pros

I have heard nothing but great things from other employees who work here and was very excited to be a part of the team!

Cons

I was offered a job here, given a drug test and background check, start date and salary. I quit my current job with not a two week notice but one week because I was willing to do so for Morton Salt and the great opportunity. But the offer was taken back and it turns out the employer was still interviewing others after having offered employment to me.

Thank you for calling this to our attention. The situation that you described is not aligned with the expectations I have for Talent Acquisition processes within HR at Morton. We will look into what happened and make any appropriate changes to our recruiting practices. Matt Beliveau, CHRO

Too much change and too much complacency

Pros

Work life balance is great. The company is putting a lot of effort into organizational behavior change. The change is slow and I think it will be very positive in the long run. The best benefit of working at Morton Salt is the resume equity from the role and the brand.

Cons

I have seen many people get promoted from within. However I do see many hired from the outside and often people getting promotions do not deserve them and people who should be promoted are not. There is a huge amount of complacency and therefore it impedes your ability to get things done that you feel is the right thing to do. Too many layers of bureaucracy also causes problems.
