Works for some, but not for all

Pros

Some people really do get the opportunity they promise - its just a very small percentage, and frequently people who are good at getting to mgmt, and then feel entitled to take perks for being where they are. I was one of the few who got a really amazing opportunity, and I dont regret working there, but I learned a lot about what can be done better.

Cons

Because all entry level people have to work long hours for very very little pay, they do the brunt of the work. The managers are opportunistic, and part of their corporate story is that you get to have more flexibility, more pay, and better conditions once you get to management. This encourages managers to slack off, and frequently incompetent people who are good at working the system get promoted.

Not for the faint of heart

Pros

- Potential springboard for a better recruitment or sales job

Cons

Simple - enforces poor mental hygiene for little reward. The job requires so much of you in order to be successful. Its a cult-culture that takes young grads and imposes values of toxicity, frat boy, and zero work life balance. They've had to make so many changes because their attrition (people leaving) was so high. To imagine it was worse than current working conditions is hard to imagine.. You don't need to have a high stamina for cold calling candidates and companies in order to be successful. That's why I'm currently interviewing to get the heck out of dodge.

Pros

The training definitely helps develop a professional "phone" voice that you will use throughout your career. You get to meet a lot of new people.

Cons

Extremely high turnover rate. Spend 90% of your day calling hiring managers on a blocked number (they want nothing to do with you). Take advantage of naive job-seekers. The salaries aren't close to what they say in their "pitch." Unprofessional working environment. Practices some might consider unethical.
