Pros

- Nice office - Decent co-workers - Good for an entry-level sales job You will fit right in if you have a specific 'bro' type of personality.

Cons

My overall advice is that if you're new to sales, want to enter the field, or just need some experience, this might be okay for you. For the long term though, it is not the kind of place you would like to grow in. Compensation is little and it can be a toxic environment. Also, the only 'support' provided is weird micro-managing sessions. They ask you everything. They want to know everything you're doing. It's a little invasive. Little to no social life outside of work either. It's quite draining. There's a reason there's a high turnover rate here.

Pros

- Good management set up for each team. They each have their own unique strengths that help newbies adapt and get geared up for quick learning. - Take some level of interest in team building and success. - Good education on the technology markets that you represent. - Decently fun and enjoyable vibe in the office.

Cons

- Terrible work-life balance but I don't blame the organization considering how high the turnover rate is. It's quite toxic - in office 4 days/week downtown Toronto (as of 2023) and the company lacks the flexibility when things come up. They only provide 3 sick days per annum and if you are genuinely unwell, you are unable to work from home and are forced to take an unpaid day off... Imagine being a parent and needed that day of work but were forced out of it. Exclusion is Covid-19. - Lacks structure - things are all over the place in regards to the office setup. The management is extremely disorganized and lazy in terms of housekeeping and having the office up to standards. Not the biggest deal but the fridge would have food going bad week over week, there's dust everywhere, chairs falling apart, the office itself is old and just feels unkept... Feels like you're heading into another home or basement for your workday. - They do host morning team meetings but the direction and purpose for them is all wrong - they are trying to motivate you and hype you up for a day of cold calling and generating leads, but they need to come up with a better pitch and value proposition for doing so. Most of the time, the meetings would turned into very veerrryyy long winded lectures and would jeopardize the initial hours of the day that should be the most productive (and autonomous for that reason). I see the effort but the delivery was poor - even some of the most influential managers would lose direction, not have an itinerary for the meeting, and lead into yet another rant. I would say one or two managers knew how to "keep it tight" and provide some value for the day ahead. - Heavy micromanagement - they want you to feel included, motivated, and almost apart of this "bro"-ey team energy, but they are constantly hounding you. Asking about your work, who you're calling, what you're working towards - it's very stressful to constantly have to answer about your personal direction in the day (imagine this 4 days/week). I get it, but again, they really need to sharpen their management skills to coach these entry-level recruiters. They lack the know how and it feels like they are winging it and just trying to squeeze out performance. Lines are also blurred between professional work life vs "friendship". - If you're not necessarily drinking the "koolaid", you're not celebrated and showered with praise. You become isolated from the team and it is very obvious when favouritism takes place. - Outings and "team-building" events are always the same and usually involve drinking at local bars in the city or hitting a park. No investment in legitimate, meaningful team building. - Metrics are unrealistic. - Overall, balance is missing in this organization on a lot of levels. It's hard to trust people or have reliable mentors and it's not a place realistic to see out a long-term career (unless you started working there during the market boom which they constantly reference).
