Pros
KT hires intelligent, humble, and sincere humans - some of the best people I’ve ever worked alongside. The benefits were up to par with many tech companies. The workplace team does a superb job of accommodating everyone’s wants and needs (i.e they stocked a new brand of milk upon request, had a blind coffee taste test to find the favorite).
Cons
KT was the most dysfunctional company I’ve worked for. While working for the company for roughly a year, I had four different managers due to turnover. The company lacks the infrastructure (systems, processes) needed to scale at the rate it did. As in many startups, priorities changed frequently which decreased productivity. Expectations varied from department to department - for example, some teams were allowed a flexible schedule and could arrive anytime before 11am, some teams could work from home on a weekly basis, etc. The company also lacked strategic oversight (for instance, the 2019 OKRs were rolled out nearer to Q2) and was losing money ever since entering the freight industry (conflict of interest). Fortunately for them, they now have COVID as an excuse for mass layoffs. A bonus plan was rolled out roughly 14 months ago and the feedback received at the time was, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Unfortunately, those employees were right.
