Making employees nervous

Pros

My day to day job and my clients are exactly what I want from a job. I am satisfied with the work I put out and excited that the campaigns I work on continue to get cooler.

Cons

The past 6-9 months have started making me (and I think some of my coworkers) nervous about the direction of the company. In the past I could trust that this was a company that valued the development of it's talent, but it seems like that may not be the case anymore. A lot of people that seemed to be doing a good job have either left on their own (pushed out?) or have been let go. It makes me start to wonder if having an opinion will get me in trouble. It would really be bad if we fell into the tech startup trap of protecting your director/vp/c level people who aren't always right or behaving well over the interest of the rest of the employees and company.

Poor Management and Leadership

Pros

Free lunch and great networking events. If you are interested in startup life this could be for you.

Cons

Management shifts constantly and there is a lack of professional development. Everyones main goal is to simply just get things done. This also leads to a lack of a work life balance.

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Glassdoor. We appreciate the feedback. We understand that there were some management shifts at the beginning of the year that may have taken some adjustment. We believe that these were positive changes in the long run that will lead our employees and business to even greater success. We are also sorry to hear that there was a lack of professional development while you worked at Movable. We are currently working hard at creating more opportunities for Inkers to grow themselves professionally with the help of Talent and their managers. Additionally, we are developing career paths for all roles to create a clear avenue for our employees to assess where they need to grow to get themselves to that next step in their career.

Pros

Movable Ink has a great culture with lots of nice people. They're fully remote which is a huge bonus and everyone works very hard. As a CXM, you get exposure to some of the largest brands in the world, which gives you good experience in the sense that you can see how top notch companies do things while potentially building connections.

Cons

Client experience may be one of the worst jobs I've ever had. As a previous reviewer mentioned, during the interview process, they understate how technical they expect you to be in this role. You are put in the asinine position of holding the hands of your engineering peers. You're not allowed to go into the platform and build, instead you're expected to write these long, complicated tickets which always end up with a thousand follow up questions leaving you wondering why you even wasted your time to begin with. Additionally, you'll be given an unreasonable amount of clients relative to what they're paying you and you'll be expected to meet with them on a bi-weekly basis, while also sending emails, follow up emails, conducting presentations, waiting on them hand and foot when things break (and they will, they always do) which will leave you feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. Clients are largely unsympathetic and you really are left feeling worthless when it's all said and done. Occasionally, you'll have small victories like an upsell here or there, a shout in one of the slack channels, but it'll always be overshadowed by 2 more clients churning, emails not working as intended, etc. It's always 1 step forward and 2 steps back in this role. TLDR: The company is infected with hustle culture, and you know what they say, if everything is an emergency, nothing is.
