Pros

Great people and a great roster of clients.

Cons

Movable Ink has brought on a lot of key logo clients and scaled them. Great for the past sellers who got their commissions, but it means the opportunities are running dry for current salespeople. MI is a land and expand company. New biz sales lists are beaten and depleted. It's rough outbounding. Opps sourced by BDRs are few and far between. Maybe a few a year per rep. Not sure how that side of the business still exists. Existing clients are for the most part fully sold into and there is not enough product diversity to for much cross sell opportunity. Only a few reps hit quota (20-25%) and a lot under perform. Tough spot for most sellers.

Pros

There are some really incredible people that work at this company. The culture has some great pros too - they've done a great job at handling remote work in 2020 and being both upfront & understanding about employees' attitudes toward return to office plans. The in-person and virtual events are very thoughtful. The opportunities and experiences you gain here can be very valuable.

Cons

Lots of politics among leaders here. Can't speak for every department but for customer success, they pay low in comparison to other fast-paced start ups and the workload is almost twice as much. Work life balance can be hard and if you don't hustle hard past hours like others do, then you feel like you're "not doing enough". People can be very clique-y which contradicts the 'inclusive' environment that they like to promote. There's a big culture of comparison against others here, which could be unintentional. If you want to go far, it's all about the connections/friends you have. Overall still an extremely scrappy company with very little standard process. If you thrive in chaos, this could be for you.

Hi there! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a thorough review of your experience working here. We’re really proud of the hybrid culture we’ve created here and take a lot of care regarding our employees’ wellbeing. We look at our compensation bands regularly to ensure that we are competitive with the market and continue to do so as the market and our roles evolve. Attracting and retaining great talent is what makes Movable Ink so great! We also want to ensure none of our employees experience burnout. In 2020, we instituted “take a break days” for every employee to use once a month (outside of regularly scheduled PTO and company holidays). We encourage all of our employees to use these days and communicate with their managers. Inclusivity is an important part of our culture and we will take your feedback as we continue to build and iterate on our manager training programs; we’re always reviewing our policies and processes and iterating as we expand!

Pros

You will have to learn to take care of yourself.

Cons

Burnout is punished unless you are a white man, any questions or concerns are completely silenced even while management happily mangles your future in front of you for convenience sake, no one will help or guide you and then your failure will be screamed from the rooftops to keep everyone off their own back, it is a high school mean girl culture that will have you believing you are crazy for not wanting to sell your soul to keep a product alive for the sake of executive staff's egos. Anyone there who tells you to chin up and that all of the insanity is in your head either knows something you don't or has an exit plan.
