Pros

Room for advancement, great discount, fun enviorment, competive wages, employee owned, over 70% retention. Mud Bay truely cares about thier employees.

Cons

If you aren't passionate about pets, don't apply. There is a non stop stream of information to learn and teach to others. Wages are getting better, but without moving up are still low (but not for retail)

Pros

Health insurance, 40% off employee discount, great training program with lots of in depth knowledge about pet nutrition and holistic approaches to pet wellbeing

Cons

The company is in the hole due to poor financial choices (expecting the puppy boom of covid to continue) and a lot of negative impact is falling on the employees, such as: fewer hours, no raises, replacing full time positions with part time causing poor customer experiences when they expect better based on their previous visits, etc. What once used to be a small business experience focused on customers and their pets is turning into something more corporate coded, trying to pinch every penny possible out of providing a healthy work experience.

Don't work with Mud Bay

Pros

Discount Friendly Customers Cute Pets Clean Store Learning more about animals

Cons

Inconsistent Scheduling, you will be called in at any time to cover shifts because they do not hire enough people. Toxic management and leadership throughout. They make you do a lot of extra work, when less work could create the same outcome. Mud Bay only cares about profit, not customers or employees anymore.
