Company outgrowing its "Team" feeling

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Profit Sharing Depending on your manager - job flexibility Great health benefits

Cons

The company is growing at a fast pace but they don't want to hire as many employees as they need to keep up. They would rather force more work on current employees while not compensating any additional. Recently, they consolidated THREE positions into one, while not offering any additional pay to these employees. Part of the reasoning for this was because they are having issues hiring (mostly because of starting pay). Also, several seasoned employees have been complaining about the fact that they got the WORST raises of their careers this year. With the continued growth they are expecting more and more from employees while giving less and less. To add insult to injury they regularly hold "Team Forums" to talk about the status of things within the company and talk about how well the company is doing and brag about how we are selling more and more from previous years. Setting records for sales. Yet, they cant compensate their employees accordingly.

Pros

Culture and company values are great. They treat their employees like humans and understand that we have more to our life than just work. Lots of free ticket giveaways for events. Flexible work hours.

Cons

Any promotions from this position are either into a sales managing role or require a move to Oskaloosa to work at corporate.

Steer clear of Musco

Business Outlook

Pros

The pay and benefits are okay.

Cons

Musco mishandles employee health and interpersonal issues, to the point of psychological abuse. The HR department doesn't stop it. During the height of Omicron COVID, management started a heavy push to get remote workers back in the office, "face to face" (their words). Musco is very into assimilation. If you don't think and act like their ideal worker you will be reprimanded until you do. And you'd better be an extrovert. Work life balance is not a priority. Workers who sacrifice their work life balance are praised in the internal newsletter. The executives seem proud of anything that makes money, come hell or high water. For software engineering, benefits are behind the industry. This includes the new PTO plan. Musco has pretty much zero racial and religious diversity in their US locations.
