Pros

- Around 15-20% profit sharing depending on how well the year went. Meaning they will take however much you make annually and give you 15-20%. 40% of that will be put into 401k and you will receive 60% of that. - Immediately vested 401k (up to 4% match) - Vision - Dental - Health - Free drinks and popcorn - Paid Time Off but if you actually use it, you will be penalized. At least in the department I worked in. - "Cost of living raise" each year (3% or less even if the cost of living is actually higher than that) - Allowed to do whatever you want when you aren't on the phone talking to a customer or given a special project of some sort. - "Team Appreciation" will give you 100$ in the spring and fall unless you are a part-time employee then I guess they appreciate you less and give you 50$. - At least eight weeks of maternity leave.

Cons

- Will pay you the bare minimum until external pressure from other entry-level positions in the area force them to pay you more. - During the winter and the days the phone calls coming in are almost nonexistent. - If you move to days you will no longer be allowed to do whatever you want so they can keep up appearances. (IE: reading a book, watching a video, etc) - Moving anywhere within the company is not actually based on merit or skill but on who you know within the company. Nepotism is a gigantic problem. - Force you to come into the office to sit in an open office-type layout with almost no sound barriers even though during COVID we were able to work from home perfectly fine. - They are fine not following OSHA safety regulations and have no quarl with firing the employee who reported the safety issue to OSHA. The safety of employees is not a priority. - Has quarterly assessments but it is all smoke and mirrors. Managers never actually completed them and would often leave them blank and never respond to the goals put in. - Very dull and mundane work. You are essentially a glorified light switch and secretary. - If they are having issues with operating the lights at the facility you are encouraged to not actually send them to an on-call technical specialist and have them wait until regular business hours unless the customer is a large venue or the customer is very angry. - Management is very hostile and overly aggressive for no reason. - HR is not your friend and will actively help management sabotage you and your future because they do not like you even though you come in every day on time and do your job with no issue. - Will call everyone on the team family but in reality, they do not care about you in the slightest. - One measly week of paternity leave.

Steer clear of Musco

Pros

The pay and benefits are okay.

Cons

Musco mishandles employee health and interpersonal issues, to the point of psychological abuse. The HR department doesn't stop it. During the height of Omicron COVID, management started a heavy push to get remote workers back in the office, "face to face" (their words). Musco is very into assimilation. If you don't think and act like their ideal worker you will be reprimanded until you do. And you'd better be an extrovert. Work life balance is not a priority. Workers who sacrifice their work life balance are praised in the internal newsletter. The executives seem proud of anything that makes money, come hell or high water. For software engineering, benefits are behind the industry. This includes the new PTO plan. Musco has pretty much zero racial and religious diversity in their US locations.
