Don't judge a book by it's cover

Pros

Wonderful architecture. Brilliant minds. Opportunity to meet other great thinkers.

Cons

Administrative management is corrupted. Too much emphasis on "who you know" and "image". Not enough emphasis on rewarding hard work and protecting the integrity of your work. The relaxed work culture can be a two edged sword that also allows for gutting someone's reputation without any facts. Those with this mindset group together to achieve their goals and bully others who refuse to accept their method of "success". They parade how great they are while stabbing you in the back.

Pros

Very innovative design culture, interesting project types. Strong mentorship and very good breadth of expereince to learn from. Not afraid to test and try new things.

Cons

Seattle leadership patting itself too much on the back, and not giving enough recognition to the hard work put in by the "minions." Overly political atmosphere. Its no wonder there was a huge atrition rate this past year - at least a lot of the leadership has been replaced.

Inherently human?

Pros

Some very talented and skilled people. Great place to learn from each other. Chance to work on high profile projects.

Cons

Very political, top down, and segregated office culture. Lack of trust in the management, who are out of touch with staff. The bottom line is of all importance. The blame game and finger pointing happens from upper management, which is disappointing. Instead of walking the walk, they market their motto to their staff.
