Every department is riddled with horrible managers who have either been there for 20 years or who have been hired by a horrible Manager that's been there for 20 years. I've never seen so many managers that sit in meetings all day, but don't know how to answer work-related questions from their direct reports. It's become a culture of "we've always done it this way" vs trying to improve processes. Most good associates leave after only being here a few years knowing the is no real growth and they'll be stuck under their poor Manager forever. There is also a lot of personnel drama and a few managers who have been found to read their people's emails and listen to their phone calls. It's a very immature environment and it's been that way for so long because executive leadership doesn't remove all the horrible managers. If you don't fall in line and put up with doing your bosses work while they take the credit for it then I'd look elsewhere.

No longer work/life balance since full time return to office. Micromanagement is a high priority for this bank nowadays including hall monitors, monitoring the office and where employees are above and beyond your management team. Not competitive with rates and structure in several business groups.
