Pros

It is the NIH...great cache, mission, and name recognition.

Cons

It was the Ph.D's and "the rest of us." Too many pre-madonna types who thought their work was of more import than others. Traffic is/was a nightmare, never attempt to leave and make it back within 30 mins (even if where you are going is 10mins. away).

Pros

A good atmosphere to learn and share your ideas. An opportunity to get to know the leading scientists in a particular area.

Cons

The salary is not as much as expected but would cover all you need.

Pros

Wonderfully warm, supportive office environment and extremely flexible hours. Healthcare is amazing... Blue Cross/Blue Shield requires only $10 copay for pretty much everything.

Cons

Pay was very low and I didn't get training on as many technical aspects of the work as I'd hoped (statistical analysis strategies, etc.)
