      Good benefits The company is very progressive in terms of diversity and inclusion There is an effort to improve the community through paid volunteer hours The company is generous with charitable donations

      Cons

      My particular position is very time consuming and stressful and does not allow much pro-active work. I currently find it quite unsatisfying. Other people do not have the same experience, which is a good thing

      Pros

      I learned so much about the company and industry. Great entry-level job and learning opportunity. The people at NRG are some of the most genuine and hard-working people I know. I made solid friendships here. I appreciated the trust that exists between teams and managers. They will drop everything and give you the time of day when you need it. Managers respect boundaries. The benefits are great too, generous PTO rollover and listening to staff about back to work.

      Cons

      Siloed jobs, Siloed departments… Low base with high bonus, which is taxed heavily. No discussion about growth, no promotions in our department, no upward movement unless you apply for position. Painful slow systems and processes…and the DE merger is a firestorm mess.
