Pros

The people and the company culture are good. I never had a problem with any concerns that I had. Immediate management always listened to my concerns.

Cons

Their salaries are at the low end of the totem pole. Actually they are the bottom of the barrel as far as the energy industry in Texas is concerned. Learn the industry here, but go elsewhere if you want to get paid a living wage.

Poorly-run disjointed corporation

Pros

Make a living and be exposed to how a large company can work.

Cons

Company runs at whims of the CEO with little ability of other executives in charge to make a decision. NRG is a very large corporation with lots of subsidiaries and tons of fiefdoms. Not employee-centric.
