Pros

Competitive pay and strong benefits package (health, retirement, overtime opportunities). High job security since power generation is always needed. Hands-on technical work that builds valuable skills. Opportunities to move up into control room or supervisory positions. Strong sense of teamwork and responsibility knowing your work matters.

Cons

Rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays can be tough on family life. High stress during outages or equipment failures. Training is solid but technology changes fast and requires constant learning. Work can be physically and mentally demanding, especially on long shifts.
