Upper Management Disconnect

Pros

Fairly autonomous operation, corporate doesn't interfere too often.

Cons

However, when corporate does interfere, they get everything wrong. Absolutely everything. Upper management inspires absolutely zero confidence.

Pros

Hard working co-workers for the most part, great networking opportunities to find future employment. Will open your eyes to how a company should not be run.

Cons

Local "upper management" is a club of unprofessional bullies and closed minded, grossly overpaid friends and family members who lack real-world field experience. Zero appreciation for those working hard and pulling the weight of lazy "favorites" who continue to advance because of who they know, not what they do. Zero Human Resources presence whatsoever.

Pros

Very good atmosphere and working environment. Good direction from senior staff. Challenging, interesting work. Good camaraderie and esprit de corps. Flex time for respinsible employees.

Cons

Some lack of upward mobility for project level staff. Expected NV5 to try and retain me, but it didnt work out as expected. Intra-office colaboration is limited. Lack of communication betwen US offices.
