Pros

Our local office had a group of very hardworking, smart, honest people who I am glad I had an opportunity to work with.

Cons

- you are a number, not person. - each office works independently with no opportunity to get help/ transfer - salary is below average for our area - benefits are below average - bonus (if/when given) is in company shares - not yours for 3 years - 401K is a joke (12-15% of what employees contributed towards 401K during the year... You put $1000 and NV5 added $120-150 for that year.... in April 2017 for 2016 calendar year as one time contribution) - annual reviews are getting delayed by a month each year (once every 13 months...) - annual salary increase is below average in this field in our area and takes over a month to see it in you pay check (if any) - lack of communication - lack of natural growth (all growth is through buying new companies which creates a mismatch) - no cross-sale within the company - overall not a good company to work for

Pros

Pretty autonomous and lacks the micromanagement which so often, ironically, makes it harder to stay on track and complete tasks at other places of business.

Cons

Not recommended for any graduates with ambitions. The job is akin to attending your first frat party and having to to hold a beer funnel for the duration of said party; but alas, instead of sweet butterbeer tickling your throat, everyone who was hired before you gets to walk to the funnel and dump whatever work they have no interest of doing, regardless of whether it makes logistical sense for you to do it or not. Go scrub floors at Goldman; I daresay, the work will be more meaningful and for sure you will receive higher compensation.
