Pros

The list is too long. Narrative Science from the interview process all the way until my last day shows how much they care about their people. Cheesy as it sounds, everyone felt like family and looked out for each other whether it was to complete projects or just needing a friend. They care about DEI for the right reasons and have a whole committee of volunteer employees who want to make a positive impact.

Cons

Seems like compensation is a little low compared to the industry and location. They are still trying to find their sweet spot with their products and are pivoting to try to find it. Both of these aren’t against Narrative Science and are more of something to consider when working in a smaller company.

Great culture, Talented People, Exciting Technology

Pros

- Great Culture - the talent team works very hard on Company culture. They truly care how people feel and try to make NS a great place to work. There is a lot of focus on DEI as well, which is great. During Covid, I was extremely impressed with the level of communication from the leadership team, the Company was also very understanding of the difficulties people were facing while working from home (especially for parents with little ones at home). - Talented People - NS hires a lot of smart and hardworking individuals. There are a lot of self-starters which is great in an environment such as a VC backed growth company. I have seen a number of people come into the organization with only a little experience and grow and thrive by working hard. Sometimes those people ultimately leave and seem to have really benefited from their experiences at NS (myself included). Technology - the technology is exciting and unique. NS is on the forefront of Data Storytelling and using narratives and new technologies to improve the Business Intelligence industry.

Cons

The Company has done a really good job with comp over the last few years, however, it may not pay as high as some of the other tech companies (thinking Facebook, Google, etc.). That said, there are a lot of intangibles that I don't think you would get at some of those other companies (see pros above).

Pros

The company culture at Narrative Science can't be beat - some of the most intelligent, mission-driven, and genuine people I've ever worked with. Leadership is super communicative and keeps employees informed on what's going on within the business. A true team culture from the top down solving interesting problems with transformative technology.

Cons

Priorities can change frequently and you have to be willing to pivot
