Pros

The culture is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The company is full of highly intelligent people who are working on very innovative products.

Cons

Since it's a small & agile company, it can feel chaotic at times with lots of change. But that's part of the fun in my opinion.

Pros

- Only place in Chicago area that works on NLG. - Work with some fun, smart and dedicated people. - Some teams like Professional Services are really good to be in. - Good bouncing board, especially for folks early in their career.

Cons

- Poor leadership and inability to execute on key initiatives - Technology company that lacks technical leadership. Engineering culture is highly toxic and not inclusive. Sometimes teams members are actively excluded if they don't agree with leadership - CTO has poor leadership and technical skills - Engineers are often measured by the amount of code they write and hours spent at work - Engineering management doesn't have a software background and are unable to guide the team towards good technical choices for the product. Engineering leadership lacks skills and experience in building a software platform iteratively - Women on engineering are marginalized

Narrative Science Response

Thank you for providing feedback on your time at Narrative Science. Narrative Science, like most technology companies, continues to work hard to find diverse talent. This is a very important goal of the company. Our CEO has repeatedly and candidly discussed the importance of increasing diversity at the company at all-company meetings and in other public forums. While we feel we've made progress, we have plenty of work left to do. We thank you for reminding us of the need to continue to work on this tough problem and hope that you are happier in your new role.
