Incredible office culture, best commission structure, endless opportunities
Pros
This review is specifically for the Chicago market - In such a large market, there is an unlimited number of staffing firms to work for. All will promote themselves as having great commission structures, opportunities for growth, etc. but at the end of the day, the majority treat employees as nothing more than a foot in the door and a source of GP. Harvey Nash is unique in that it functions as a boutique firm but has the backing of an international publicly traded company. The culture of this office is unbeatable - everybody supports each other and we come to work hard and play hard. The Sales Team develops meaningful relationships with clients and this drives business in a way that allows the Recruiters to work independently on numerous positions rather than competing against each other to fill one job order. The offshore sourcing team provides candidate resumes so that Recruiters can spend more time speaking to candidates than searching the job boards. Management is directly involved in all aspects of the process; supporting the Sales and Recruitment Teams with client and candidate relationships and actively engaging in the professional development of all Harvey Nash employees. The Harvey Nash CEO is also very involved in all of the 7 U.S. offices, in the past few months, he has traveled to Chicago numerous times for conferences and always makes sure to take us to lunch or dinner in order to stay up to date on everything going on with the market and how he can help with clients, job orders, or any other support we may need. When you first start at Harvey Nash, you spend a week in New Jersey at the corporate offices, getting to know the executive team and receiving hands on training on best practices. Aside from the culture and management, Harvey Nash's commission structure is the best there is. Everyone in this office has come from other recruitment firms and our jaws dropped when we learned how much money we're able to make. And after being here for a while, I can truly attest that it's not the empty promise that we're all so used to hearing, my starting commission is 10x what I was making in my last position. Not only is the commission incredible, but unlike companies that expect you to work until 8 or 9PM, work life balance is something that management values - work hard during the hours you're here, but make sure to have fun and relax after 5/5:30PM! Overall, this is the best, most supportive team that I have ever worked with and I look forward to continuing my career at Harvey Nash in Chicago.
Cons
I have no cons. I've never felt more valued in a company than I do with Harvey Nash.
