Pros

It's a noble mission It's in Boulder Great 2 year plan if resume building is a necessity for your career, otherwise steer clear

Cons

Consistent diminishing returns Amateur management masquerading as professionals at nearly every turn Middle-management in general is in survival mode/reactive Promotions equate to more responsibilities, maybe a title, and meager compensation Mold in one of the office buildings Review process is a joke Company is preying on young talent without experience using the mission and location as bait uncompetitive salaries I can sum up my experience here as a personal sacrifice

Pros

I enjoyed my time working as a field ops technician for NEON. Our team had a great work ethic, and felt like we were contributing to an important country-wide data set. I was given responsibilities that made me feel necessary and the domain manager always made us feel acknowledged and appreciated. Most of my experience deals with the remote operations of NEON outside of headquarters (where there were many unsatisfied personnel).

Cons

Headquarters frequently had a condescending attitude towards field operations personnel, despite the fact that we were responsible for collecting the data and ensuring quality control. I felt as a field operations employee, we were spared from a lot of the chaos and disgruntled masses that were NEON headquarters work staff since we were working in one of the remote locations. Being thousands of miles away and left to perform our jobs in peace was nice.
