lack of supervision or accountability allowed the staff to pursue personal interests or "work from home"

Cons

Culture of disfunctional management. Not a potential long term employment option for tech team. Project failure was a certainty to all who had seen how real businesses operate.

Great minds and hard-workers. Mostly everyone is passionate about their work and they genuinely care about the project's Mission. There's exciting, novel work being completed everyday.

Cons

We are losing science staff at an alarming rate and we will most likely continue on this path. It is evident by the actions (or lack thereof) of the new upper management that they don't care about employee retention. There's no promotional structure, the pay scale is highly skewed, and the sense of feeling undervalued continues to grow. Morale somehow seems lower now than it was before the new management took over.
