Pros

Tons of smart, interesting people who are truly excited about the company's mission. Lots of opportunity to try and learn new things. Good benefits package.

Cons

Siloed. No accountability or transparency. No professional development for managers, who are largely untrained and inexperienced. Micromanagement from funders and board. Deeply ineffective leadership. Companywide emphasis on technical and academics rather than project or people management. All the classic problems of a company that grew too fast without adequate investment in infrastructure, competent management or human capital.
