Pros

It’s a Job and that’s all you can really say.

Cons

Management for downstate NYC in GFO is absolutely garbage. The constant change in leadership really broke this place. Unorganized, garbage union that fights for absolutely nothing, horrible tools, horrible trucks, horrible work life balance and environment. Shut down a critical satellite yard cause they don’t want to pay. So it makes sense that a major utility company has 4 locations total and the one that’s convenient to a good amount of guys gets axed. So if you like your commute home being minimum 2-3 hours this is the place to be. 3% match on the 401k is an absolute embarrassment too. I don’t know how the union negotiated that one. No pension, no annuity, work till your dead mentality here. If you’re young avoid this place at all cost. Anyone that was worth anything is gone already anyway.

Pros

OT opportunities, union benefits, pleasant colleagues

Cons

They make promises and then backpedal on them. They don’t value employees personal time. They mandate working longer hours without any notice
