Pros

1) National Grid is a very stable organisation with a strong public purpose, which gives real meaning to the work. 2) Good focus on safety, resilience, and long-term infrastructure investment. 2) Competitive benefits package, including pension and flexible working options. 3) Generally supportive colleagues with strong technical expertise across the business. 4) Increasing emphasis on sustainability, net zero, and modernising the energy system which is interesting and very forward focused.

Cons

1) As a very large organisation, decision-making can be slow and bureaucratic. 2) Change initiatives can feel top-down, with inconsistent communication between senior leadership and their teams. 3) Processes and systems can sometimes feel outdated, particularly compared to more agile organisations. 4) There is some difference between how the US and UK folks are treated, I feel like the US get more benefits.
